We’re a few days removed from the 2012 WWE Royal Rumble pay per view. As this is the official start to the Road To WrestleMania (and happens to be my favorite PPV of the year) this is one of the 2 shows per year I get (with Mania obviously being the other). There’s been quite a bit of bad press out there for this show and I really don’t get it. This was a very entertaining PPV from top to bottom.

We’re greeted with Boyz II Men doing their version of America The Beautiful. We then get the outstanding “Old School” promo followed by the “Showcase of the Immortals”. WrestleMania 27 is in the books. While Pip, my bro and I had an absolute BLAST building this year’s Beeramid (pics here) I have to say the show was pretty lackluster. It took a good 24 minutes after the show started for the first match to get underway… that’s just WAY too long in my opinion (even with the Rock starting things off).

Pip, my brother and I got together and carried on our tradition of watching WrestleMania together. This was the 25th anniversary of the show so were expecting big things and a great show. What we got (with a couple of exceptions) was neither. Overall I’d have to say it was a pretty bad show with just a couple of high spots – certainly not what we were expecting from the biggest show of the year… and the 25th anniversary at that.
