IU

Pip sent me this video earlier today… I clicked and had absolutely no idea what to expect.  I quite literally got goose bumps.  THIS video is the essence the college experience at Indiana.  These guys (who apparently have some fame in the Hoosier state) don’t know it, but they’ve completely channeled the 406 Northlane experience.

Please don’t take this to mean that life at IU was all about partying.  There was certainly (more than) a fair share of that, but what this really evokes from my memory is the FUN that we had.  I met some of my best friends… Continue reading

I’m not sure when it happened.  Must have been sometime between when I left Cleveland and arrived in Bloomington.  Plaid became cool.  And not just plain plaid… FLANNEL plaid.

Perhaps it was a carryover from the “grunge” movement that was sweeping the nation but I can tell you this – the majority of the pictures I’ve got from college have SOME plaid flannel in them.

As you can see here, I’m sporting the standard backwards IU cap and I complete the ensemble with a plaid flannel shirt and some sort of fruity looking beer in a house mug.

If memory serves me correctly, this was the first in a long line of “picture of the week” items originally posted on 406Northlane.com.  On the left is yours truly and on the right is my bestest bud Pip.

  • Notice the tandem backward hats.  That’s cool people.
  • Notice the perfectly trimmed “I’m in college I can rebel” goatee that I’m sporting.  Sa-weet!

This is pure awesomeness.  Pip is sporting a “house beer” shirt that we had made up for when we were hosting a party… class I tell ya.  Pure class.
