I’m old enough to remember a time where MTV played videos. I’m also old enough to really not have time for the garbage that MTV currently has in their lineup. Actually, now that I think about it, that last statement isn’t fair. At this point I really don’t know what MTV is playing these days cause I was turned off by the rash of crap (16 And Pregnant, Jersey Shore, The Real World, etc.) they were showing. But I digress…
So I’m at the gym this morning running the elliptical like the hamster that I am, and one… Continue reading
If you’re like me you heard this song WAY too often over the 4th of July weekend this past year. For me it started off as a catchy tune that I got sick of. I had on the iPod shuffle this morning and it came on. I don’t know that I’ve ever really listened to the lyrics before but if you really look at what Ms. Perry is singing about it’s a pretty damn moving song.
Firework – Katy Perry

I recently went on a quick trip to Vegas for work – in on Wednesday out on the “red-eye” on Friday evening. The show was great and I managed to get in a little bit of time at the tables which was nice as well. In preparation for my trip, I loaded up the iPod with quite a few flicks to make sure that I’d have plenty to keep me busy on the trip and associated layovers. I do have a couple of WrestleMania shows for The WrestleMania Project but I typically tend to take a lot of notes during… Continue reading
I’m not a big country music fan but I was driving a couple of years back on a business trip with nothing else to listen to. I heard this song and when I got back to the hotel immediately purchased it from iTunes. I had the iPod on shuffle this evening and ran across it again. Nearly brought a tear to my eye… damn do I love my boys!
Artist/Band: Rodney Atkins Lyrics for Song: Watching You

Now that we’ve got the obligatory Brokeback Mountain references out of the way we can get down to business. I’ll start off by saying that I’ve got NO PROBLEM with XM Radio’s service. In fact I love it. I’m getting rid of it for no reason other than I no longer listen to it. Let me explain.
About a year or so ago, I bought a Nissan Pathfinder that came equipped from the factory with XM Radio. I was in Heaven. I was previously a Sirius subscriber so I canceled that and activated my XM subscription after my initial trial… Continue reading
Now before you get all on my case about this movie review being 5 years too late let me give you a bit of background… I don’t watch nearly as many movies as I used to. At least I don’t watch them right when they come out. The wife and I haven’t seen a movie in the last 15 years that we both like so it’s very rare that we rent anything. My kids are 2.5 and 9 months and I refuse to write movie reviews for The Wiggles and Dora the Explorer so I’m unfortunately way backed up on… Continue reading

If I Had A Hammer
A jackhammer is a wonderful tool when you need to break up concrete. It allows you to do a job that otherwise would be incredibly tedious or nearly impossible. They also are incredibly LOUD.
For the last 4 (and counting) days now I’ve had the pleasure of listening to a jackhammer from when I got to work until the time I left in the evening. There’s a restaurant going in downstairs and apparently they need to destroy the basement in order to accommodate them. I can’t tell you how irritating it is. Actually, if you follow me on Twitter or… Continue reading →
