Chewie

WrestleMania 28 was held on April 1st.  And just as the WWE has a tradition of putting on it’s biggest pay per view of the year, Pip and I have started a bit of a tradition of our own… The Beeramid.  And for the 7th time we set out last Sunday night to once again attempt the mighty feat.

I have to give HUGE props to my brother Marko for once again joining us for the event.  Not only is the event itself Herculean in nature, but Mark and his wife had just 5 days prior welcomed their first… Continue reading

Facebook.  It’s a social networking site.  I’m not going to bother explaining it any further than that cause if you don’t know what it is, you probably won’t be able to understand the explanation.  I’ve talked many times about Facebook.  I’ve said some good things.  I’ve said some bad things.  I’ve wondered how they do some of the things that they do.  Today I’m back with a couple of Facebook pet peeves.  If you’re a blind defender of all things Facebook then you should probably just move on… this one could get ugly.

STOP THAT.  It… Continue reading

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Pip’s sister letting me know that she was making him a quilt made out of t-shirts and was wondering if I had any input.  Not only did I have some input but I had what I thought was the perfect shirt to add to the mix… The T5 Flaming Keg shirt.  Back in our days in the dorm, Pip and I lived with a great group of guys in Teter-Thompson on the 5th floor.  That’s where the nicknames Chewie, Pip, Buford, Amo, Floyd and a whole slew of others come from… Continue reading

There’s recently been a hash tag topic on Twitter called #100FactsAboutMe.  The idea is to tweet 100 facts about yourself (I suppose).  One afternoon I decided that this would be a great idea cause let’s face it… people want to know all about Chewie.  So… without further build up here’s my list:

  1. I’m part of the @clevelanddotcom Twitter Twenty! #CLE20
  2. I live in Cleveland but I’m a Steeler fan. In my defense, I grew up in Pittsburgh.
  3. I chewed tobacco for 17+ years. When I quit I started http://www.killthecan.org/ to help others quit.
  4. I’m adopted. So is my brother… Continue reading

The other night we were having some friends over for a cookout.  Along with our boys, they would be bringing their two girls so the 8 of us sat around on the patio drinking (the adults) and playing (the kids).  I’d prepared some flank steak, salmon (cause the wife won’t touch a piece of red meat), veggies, etc. to be grilled.

Earlier in the day I was preparing the flank and G asked me what we were having for dinner.  I told him that we were having steak and he responded with another question (as he always does… I think… Continue reading

I’m not sure when it happened.  Must have been sometime between when I left Cleveland and arrived in Bloomington.  Plaid became cool.  And not just plain plaid… FLANNEL plaid.

Perhaps it was a carryover from the “grunge” movement that was sweeping the nation but I can tell you this – the majority of the pictures I’ve got from college have SOME plaid flannel in them.

As you can see here, I’m sporting the standard backwards IU cap and I complete the ensemble with a plaid flannel shirt and some sort of fruity looking beer in a house mug.

Wes takes… Continue reading

If memory serves me correctly, this was the first in a long line of “picture of the week” items originally posted on 406Northlane.com.  On the left is yours truly and on the right is my bestest bud Pip.

  • Notice the tandem backward hats.  That’s cool people.
  • Notice the perfectly trimmed “I’m in college I can rebel” goatee that I’m sporting.  Sa-weet!

This is pure awesomeness.  Pip is sporting a “house beer” shirt that we had made up for when we were hosting a party… class I tell ya.  Pure class.

I’ve got on a standard issue IU hat.  Don’t leave… Continue reading
