boys

If you know me even a little bit, you know that Star Wars is a big part of my childhood.  It’s partially the reason that my friends know me as Chewie and regardless of the sham that the franchise has become, I feel it’s my duty as a parent to expose my children to the films.

So… when the Wife goes out for an evening and it’s G, C and I holding down the fort, we have a tendency to watch some Star Wars after they get ready for bed.  At this point, they’ve seen 5 of the 6 films… Continue reading

I haven’t done a whole lot of blogging about the family lately but that’s certainly not by design.  I’ve got a ton of super cute pictures and videos from the last couple of months that I’m dying to get to.  I was walking out of the library the other day and happened to look over and see this scene… it was so cute to see the boys and A sitting there and even better cause I didn’t even know they were there!

To see them sitting there playing their Harry Potter video game was just awesome.  Every once in a… Continue reading

I started doing a yearly recap last year.  During the past year, I’ve found myself referring to that post quite a few times so I figured I’d do it again this year.  Got something you want me to cover in 2012?  Drop me a line and I’ll see what I can do!

The Top 10 Posts Of 2011 (Based On Number Of Views)

#10 – Thoughts At 35 No matter how hard I try, I continue to get older.  On this “milestone” birthday I decided to jot down a few musings.

#9 – 100 Facts About Me – Or… Continue reading

The boys love Mr. Matt.  They look forward to his trips here every year just about as much as I do.  So, while they’re bummed that SuperDad isn’t going to be around this weekend, they’re super excited that Dad gets to hang out with his buddy.  We were sitting around the dinner table last night and I mentioned to them that Mr. Matt wasn’t going to believe just how big they’d gotten and that I’d show pictures of them on my phone.

Naturally, that lead to the conversation of exactly WHAT pictures I was going to show Mr. Matt and… Continue reading

So we were down at the lake the other night.  We got together to celebrate Pop’s birthday and we decided to go with a nice evening at the lake so the boys could swim.  We ordered pizza to be delivered at the lake, the weather was beautiful and life was grand.

Unfortunately before we got a chance to eat our pizza, Mother Nature screwed us just as she did the last time we were down at the lake.  The heavens opened up and we were forced once again to retreat back to the in-laws house (this time we got… Continue reading

Today’s my 35th birthday.  As folks tend to do on these “milestone” birthdays I find myself being a bit introspective today.  I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the well wishes by my family, friends and co-workers.  Fair warning… this is going to get a bit sappy.

This Lady's My Rock... Love You H

I’m 35 today… she’s 35 tomorrow.  I’ve often said that I was put on this Earth one day before her cause I knew she was coming.  She keeps me in check and provides everything that guy could ask for in a wife and a mother.  Love you Baby… Continue reading

I had a great Father’s Day this year.  Based on the fact that I’m writing this post a month after the fact just goes to show how memorable the day truly was.  The day started off on the golf course with my dad and brother.  This has become sort of a tradition and one that we really enjoy.  It was a beautiful day (at this point) but it was a bit slow on the course.  We decided to just play 9 holes and have a leisurely lunch.

I got a nice note that a good friend of mine Tom Whittaker… Continue reading

Today’s the G-man’s 5th birthday!  The kid simply doesn’t sleep these days so even though he went to bed at near 10:00 PM last night, he was up this AM at around 6:30.  I figured I’d cut him some slack this morning cause hell… it’s his birthday!  As it’s his 5th birthday, today also happens to be the anniversary of our first day as parents.  To that end, I decided to put this quick list together of the top 10 things I’ve learned in my first 5 years as Super Dad.

In no particular order:

  1. Being a dad allows you… Continue reading

Once again this year, Pip made his yearly trek to the Cleveland area for a weekend of reliving memories and debauchery.  This year’s trip happened to coincide with Opening Day for the Indians so we headed down to the stadium to take in a game with my brother Marko and buddy Al.  Pip had never been to the stadium so it was super cool to have a “first timer” there though I can’t say the Tribe played all that well… we were down 14-0 in the 4th inning.  At least I can say that the didn’t roll over and die… Continue reading

So I’m sitting at a red light the other day chatting to the wife.  She’d just taken the boys to the eye doctors that morning and she was giving me the report (all good).  As I was sitting there I looked in my rear view mirror and noticed that a cop rolled up and came to a stop.  I’m not a felon on the run from the law, so I didn’t think twice about it and continued my conversation.

I made my left, the gentlemen in the police car did the same and was following me.  And then he turned… Continue reading
