Being that I’m a comic nerd and a fan of assassin movies I’m pissed that it took me so long to get to this one. I’ve never read the comic that this flick is based on but I figured that wouldn’t be a problem as it’s “loosely” based on the book from what I hear.

I read fiction because I’m looking for an escape from real life. For me there are a couple of types of fiction. Some you know is nothing more than a fantasy (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc.) The second type blurs the boundaries of reality and has you thinking “this could really happen”. The Last Patriot fits firmly into the second category. Thor does an amazing job blending his fiction with real life… so much so that you have a hard time deciding where the facts end and the story begins.

When this movie (directed by Xavier Gens) was announced I was so pumped. For those of you that don’t know, Hitman is based on a video game franchise. If you’re a fan of the game series then you’ll probably like the film (though many things have changed from the games to the movie). That said, you certainly don’t need to have experience with the game to watch the movie.
