I’m old enough to remember a time where MTV played videos. I’m also old enough to really not have time for the garbage that MTV currently has in their lineup. It’s that time of year… Thanksgiving is almost here! It’s a time to give thanks, to see family and friends and to gorge yourself on way too much turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and that dish your aunt always brings that no one likes but they take a bit just to be nice.

I’ve been a huge fan of G.I. Joe for about as long as I can remember. I collected the toys when I was growing up, watched the cartoon religiously and read the comic books. When it came time to see G.I. Joe in the theater I was one of the few who actually enjoyed it on the big screen.

Pip sent me this video earlier today… I clicked and had absolutely no idea what to expect. I quite literally got goose bumps. THIS video is the essence the college experience at Indiana. These guys (who apparently have some fame in the Hoosier state) don’t know it, but they’ve completely channeled the 406 Northlane experience.

My all time favorite baseball player is Jim Thome. When he left my beloved Cleveland Indians in 2002 it was a very sad day for me. So when I heard the news the other night that the Indians had claimed him off waivers from the Twins you can imagine how I felt… I wasn’t sure if I was dreaming or not. I was elated when I woke up the other morning and read the news that we’d in fact signed him to a contract and Jimmy was coming home!

I recently attended an Akron Aeros ballgame on a beautiful August evening in downtown Akron. And while it was fun to watch the game at a great ballpark (Akron lost… I think) the “main event” for the evening was a different sport altogether. Two words… midget…. wrestling.

If you’re like me you heard this song WAY too often over the 4th of July weekend this past year. For me it started off as a catchy tune that I got sick of. I had on the iPod shuffle this morning and it came on. Holiday weekends are great and this past one was no exception. We were jam packed starting on Friday night when we got together to celebrate Gramp’s birthday (pics forthcoming). As you can tell from the photo here the kids really enjoyed their weekend and for once we were able to tire them out (3 nights in a row out WAY past their bedtime will do that I suppose).

Summer is in full swing and in our household that means BASEBALL! Both of the boys started their t-ball seasons last week which for those non-parents out there is just an awesome experience. G had played last year, but this is the first time out for C and I’m happy to say that so far he seems to really be enjoying it.
