Random Stuff

I had a great Father’s Day this year.  Based on the fact that I’m writing this post a month after the fact just goes to show how memorable the day truly was.  The day started off on the golf course with my dad and brother.  This has become sort of a tradition and one that we really enjoy.  It was a beautiful day (at this point) but it was a bit slow on the course.  We decided to just play 9 holes and have a leisurely lunch.

I got a nice note that a good friend of mine Tom Whittaker… Continue reading

I’ve been a baseball fan for as long as I can remember.  There’s something special about going to the ballpark, seeing the green grass, grabbing a cold beer and watching the game. I haven’t been to too many games this year but those that I’ve been to have been glorious!

Opening Day 2011

Opening Day in Cleveland is nothing short of a city holiday.  For a city that’s been dragged through the mud for years it always brings a smile to my face to see fans come out and support their teams.  Play ball!

A Day Game From The Upper… Continue reading

Holiday weekends are great and this past one was no exception.  We were jam packed starting on Friday night when we got together to celebrate Gramp’s birthday (pics forthcoming).  As you can tell from the photo here the kids really enjoyed their weekend and for once we were able to tire them out (3 nights in a row out WAY past their bedtime will do that I suppose).

Saturday was “get away day” as we traveled up to Put In Bay for the afternoon.  We had some travel snafus as we’re prone to do, but the boys absolutely LOVED taking… Continue reading

I typically try to keep up with my life here on the blog so it reads in chronological order, but I’ve been so busy lately that I’m a little behind.  That said, stay tuned for a couple of posts about movies I’ve watched recently, baseball and Father’s Day.

However… wanted to write about my weekend project.  The Sandbox.  The boys have had a small sandbox for the last couple of years and it’s quite frankly become too small for them (or more accurately they’ve become too large for it).  So… the wife and I have been looking for alternatives and… Continue reading

Summer is in full swing and in our household that means BASEBALL!  Both of the boys started their t-ball seasons last week which for those non-parents out there is just an awesome experience.  G had played last year, but this is the first time out for C and I’m happy to say that so far he seems to really be enjoying it.

Naturally nothing in life is easy so we weren’t thrilled to find out that both boys are playing at the same time on different fields every Tuesday evening.  This means that either both of us need to go… Continue reading

I have quite a few friends that I’d consider “foodies”.  They write awesome blogs, share reviews and tend to photograph the food they eat.  I’ve never really considered myself a food photographer and I’m certainly not a foodie with all the crap that I eat.  However… I was going through some recent pics on my phone and I realized that I’ve taken quite a few food pictures over the recent months.

Nachos From BW3

These nachos were free for being the Foursquare mayor at BW3.  I haven’ t been there in forever so I’m not sure I’m the mayor anymore,… Continue reading

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye today to one of my all time favorite wrestlers – The “Macho Man” Randy Savage.  Randy (real name Randall Poffo) passed away earlier today after a car accident.  Apparently he had a heart attack at the wheel while driving.  He was 58 years old.

Randy Savage, best knowing for his time in the WWF with his wife/manager Miss Elizabeth, was one of the best performers in the wrestling business.  While he was great as a face (a good guy) I always preferred his work as a heel (a bad… Continue reading

Animated GIF images are pretty much a thing of the past, but Pip sent me this one today and I nearly lost it.  Without any additional hoopla, I give you the Best Animated GIF ever…

I simply couldn’t allow this to NOT be archived.

In case you’ve been living under a rock there was a wedding this morning.  Prince William married “commoner” Miss Catherine (a.k.a. Kate) Middleton.  I’m happy to say that I completely ignored the hype for this story.  I didn’t give a shit, didn’t set my DVR, and didn’t stay up late to watch it.  However… as I was kissing the wife & kids goodbye this AM I turned on the TV and the live coverage happened to be on.  Just as in this previous post where real life imitates pro wrestling, a certain wrestler immediately came to mind when I saw… Continue reading

Once again this year, Pip made his yearly trek to the Cleveland area for a weekend of reliving memories and debauchery.  This year’s trip happened to coincide with Opening Day for the Indians so we headed down to the stadium to take in a game with my brother Marko and buddy Al.  Pip had never been to the stadium so it was super cool to have a “first timer” there though I can’t say the Tribe played all that well… we were down 14-0 in the 4th inning.  At least I can say that the didn’t roll over and die… Continue reading
