I’m not sure when it happened. Must have been sometime between when I left Cleveland and arrived in Bloomington. Plaid became cool. And not just plain plaid… FLANNEL plaid.
Perhaps it was a carryover from the “grunge” movement that was sweeping the nation but I can tell you this – the majority of the pictures I’ve got from college have SOME plaid flannel in them.
As you can see here, I’m sporting the standard backwards IU cap and I complete the ensemble with a plaid flannel shirt and some sort of fruity looking beer in a house mug.

This photo really isn’t all that funny… until you know the circumstances. The dude with the beer is my buddy Jay. We were taking in a local WWE show in the Washington area. We had a few beers – actually, we had more than a few beers.
Jay decided it would be a good idea to put this dude into a headlock and pose for a picture. Seems reasonable seeing as we were at a “wrasslin” show. Except for the fact that we didn’t know this guy! That’s right… Jay is head locking a random here.

Most people don’t go out by themselves right? More often than not they take a “wing man” (or “wing woman” as the case may be).
This picture (taken at one of our 406 house parties) shows just why folks go out together – to avoid “guy that dances behind you without you knowing it”. Luckily this is just Pip behind Whitney but you never can tell when someone’s going to be up grinding on ya without you knowing it.
