It’s been a while since I’ve said a whole lot about the boys so I figured today was as good a day as any. A couple of weeks back we took our yearly trip to Naples, Florida. The wife went down about 10 days before I did and then I went down, spent a few days and then we all came back together. Normally we have GREAT weather but this year it was unseasonably cold in Florida and we only got one day in the pool. In fact other than that one day we had temperatures in the 50s every… Continue reading
I’m not a big country music fan but I was driving a couple of years back on a business trip with nothing else to listen to. I heard this song and when I got back to the hotel immediately purchased it from iTunes. I had the iPod on shuffle this evening and ran across it again. Nearly brought a tear to my eye… damn do I love my boys!
Artist/Band: Rodney Atkins Lyrics for Song: Watching You

Growing up we always had an artificial Christmas tree (my mom hated it when I called it “fake”). Part of the reason we had a fake tree was dad and I were both allergic to real ones. Each year right after Thanksgiving we’d go down in the basement and pull all the decorations out of the crawl space and within a couple of hours we’d have our home decorated for the holidays.
Now that I’ve got a family of my own decorating for the holidays has become a big deal. Not sure who gets more of a kick out of… Continue reading
While all children are different, there is one universal truth when it comes to being a parent… you’re going to change dirty diapers. If you think you’re going to get out of it you’re sorely mistaken. A’s with the boys for the majority of the week on her own so when it comes to the weekend I really do try and do my best to pitch in with diaper duty (and everything else).
So when I got out of bed to get the C-man last weekend it didn’t really surprise me to see that he had himself a dirty diaper…… Continue reading
Reading back over this blog as I sometimes do I realized that I tend to talk a bit more about the Gman than I do about C. I suppose that’s pretty normal seeing as G is 3 1/2 and C is almost 2. That being said, I certainly don’t want you to think that C doesn’t get in on the action as well. Last weekend he did a GREAT job of reminding us that he’s just as much “little boy” as his older brother.
Incident #1
Bath time for C & G. Both boys were stripped down and waiting for… Continue reading
Not sure when it happened but I woke up the other day and I’ve got a wife of 11 years, a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The 3 year old is already through his first season of t-ball, has started pre-school and is on his second week of soccer season. I spent Saturday morning at the soccer field (in the rain) watching G chase the ball around while I chased C around. I don’t have a mini van yet but I can tell you that the back seat of my car contains two car seats. Saturday isn’t… Continue reading
In my previous post I detailed the events of Friday and Saturday evening with my boys. By my count Super Dad (yours truly) was behind in the scoring 2 to 4. I’d been beaten pretty badly but I hit the ground running on Sunday morning ready for a comeback.

And we’re off. Errands… Dad’s best friend. #fb 10:34 AM Jun 14th from TwitterBerry
I’d purposefully put off this trip till Sunday morning cause I wanted to have a little more time available to us. We had to make… Continue reading
First off… This is not going to be a story about drinking with my buddies at the bar. When I refer to “the boys” in the title here I’m actually referring to MY boys. If you’re looking for a “drinking with the boys” story, you’ll have to wait a couple of weeks. My brother is getting married in July and his bachelor party weekend is shaping up to be pretty damn cool.
Amanda was in Denver for a wedding and was away from me and the boys for the first time since they’ve been born (for those of you keeping… Continue reading

The Bounce House – A Torture Device For Parents
If you have children under the age of 5 you more than likely already know what a bounce house is. If not, I’m here to tell you. It’s an inflatable house, palace, maze, etc. that your child goes into for what seems like hours on end, bounces around and has a damn fine time doing it. Remember, children have infinitely more energy than you do.
Anyhow, G got invited to a birthday party for one of his friends and it was held at a bounce house place called Pump It Up which calls itself, “The Inflatable Party Zone”. There were… Continue reading →
