It’s not often that the wife and I find a movie (or TV show) that we both enjoy.  I’m halfway embarrassed to say but this happens to be one of those movies.  As big King of Queens fans both A and I really enjoy Kevin James.  When I first saw the previews for this I totally didn’t think I’d enjoy it.  It looked completely campy and the jokes looks WAY too easy.

After watching it, I can say that the it was completely campy and the jokes were WAY too easy.  That said, we found ourselves giggling multiple times and… Continue reading

  • When you take medicine it should make you feel better.  The fact that I had to go BACK to the doctor fucking sucks.
  • Telling a 3 year old not to do something is essentially like saying “please do that”.
  • A snow globe has a ton of water in it.  And breaks into a zillion pieces when dropped by said 3 year old.
  • There’s nothing more frustrating than an Internet connection that’s down.
  • The fact that I get upset about a downed Internet connection is a bad thing… it means I’m too connected.
  • Weekends are great… 4 days weekends are better.… Continue reading

I have to say that normally Christmas lights up before Thanksgiving really irritates me.  Traditionally, A and I have put up our Christmas tree (and associated decorations) either the day after Thanksgiving or at the very latest Saturday or Sunday.  This year I’m sorry to say that I’m a complete offender of my own rule.  While I don’t have my Christmas tree up yet, we’ve had a couple of BEAUTIFUL weekends in a row and for once I took that as a sign and actually strung my exterior lights before it was 12 below zero here in balmy Cleveland.

I… Continue reading

Event: WrestleMania IV Date: March 27, 1988 Venue: Trump Plaza (Atlantic City, New Jersey) Attendance: 18,165

This is the first of the WrestleMania DVDs that are broken into 2 parts.  In my version it’s a double sided DVD with only a couple of matches on the flip side.  There are 16 matches on the card – the most in WrestleMania history.  I remember this being a HUGE event as the whole Hogan/Andre thing had gone down in months previous with twin referees.  Incidentally if you’ve never seen THAT fiasco you need to check it out… it’s pure brilliance.

20-Man Battle… Continue reading

While all children are different, there is one universal truth when it comes to being a parent… you’re going to change dirty diapers.  If you think you’re going to get out of it you’re sorely mistaken.  A’s with the boys for the majority of the week on her own so when it comes to the weekend I really do try and do my best to pitch in with diaper duty (and everything else).

So when I got out of bed to get the C-man last weekend it didn’t really surprise me to see that he had himself a dirty diaper…… Continue reading

I’ve finally had a chance to watch the pilot episode of ABC’s V and I have to say that I’m REALLY happy with the way it turned out!  I won’t bother going into a recap here cause there are literally thousands of podcasts, blogs, etc. out there that will do that for you.  That said, I was so exicted about the show’s return that I figured I needed to do a follow up with a couple of thoughts on the show.

  • First off… it LOOKS great.  I recently re-watched the original and the special effects were TERRIBLE.  This show isn’t… Continue reading

Event: WrestleMania III Date: March 29, 1987 Venue: Pontiac Silverdome (Pontiac, Michigan) Attendance: 93,173

This is the first WrestleMania that I remember a hype for outside of the wrestling world.  In addition to the pre-event hype, I remember vividly seeing on front page of the Cleveland Plain Dealer sports page the next day a huge photo of Hogan and Andre.  In my mind this is the first time that WrestleMania was really an “event”.  The opening shots of the crowd are very impressive and the venue is so big that the wrestlers need to be carted in from the dressing… Continue reading

A while back in a previous post I talked about the upcoming re-imagining of the 80′s cult classic V which was going to be coming to ABC in the fall.  I’m happy to say that tonight is the night that V returns!

There has been quite a bit of press about this show (both good and bad) but I have to say that I’m really jazzed to watch it tonight.  From what I’ve seen it’s going to be drastically different than the original miniseries which I can’t say is necessarily a bad thing.  After all it’s been over 25 year… Continue reading

Yesterday morning my dad, mom, brother and I rented a log splitter and worked for about 5 hours splitting about two and a half cords of wood.  A cord is 4 feet x 4 feet x 8 feet and it’s a TON of wood.  Needless to say hauling, splitting and stacking all of that wood is not easy work so I’m sore as hell today.  The one GREAT thing about this is I’m a HUGE fan of a wood fire.  The work that we did yesterday ensures that all three of our families will have plenty of firewood for probably… Continue reading
