Reading back over this blog as I sometimes do I realized that I tend to talk a bit more about the Gman than I do about C.  I suppose that’s pretty normal seeing as G is 3 1/2 and C is almost 2.  That being said, I certainly don’t want you to think that C doesn’t get in on the action as well.  Last weekend he did a GREAT job of reminding us that he’s just as much “little boy” as his older brother.

Incident #1

Bath time for C & G.  Both boys were stripped down and waiting for… Continue reading

Luckily I work in an office environment where jeans are acceptable work attire.  That said I wear them most days (when I don’t have a client meeting) and I had a thought cross my mind this morning – over or under?

Most of my jeans have these tags along the belt line.  Many brands give you the option of putting your belt under the tag so you can still see it.  I’ve always been one to thread the belt under but I found myself wondering if this was normal (these are the kinds of thoughts that keep me from… Continue reading

Warning: This is going to be one sappy post.

One of the really crappy things about growing up is that people have a tendency to move away from one another and friendships are tested.  It becomes hard work sometimes to maintain a friendship (though Facebook has made it easier to keep in touch).  I’m happy to say that Pip and I have never had that problem.

A couple of weeks back I headed out for my (nearly) yearly trip to Indy to spend the weekend with Pip (and now the lovely Lauren).  I got in town on Friday evening just… Continue reading

Event: WrestleMania 2 Date: April 7, 1986 Venue: The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, New York, The Rosemont Horizon in Rosemont, Illinois, and The Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California Attendance: 40,085 (combined)

As you can see above, this is the first (and I believe only) WrestleMania event to come to us from different locations.  Essentially we get 3 “main events” – one from each of the locations.  On the mic we get Vince McMahon and Susan Saint James (really WWF – this is the best “celebrity” you could come up with?) from New York.  In Chicago… Continue reading

I’m sure the title of this post alone will get me all kinds of SPAM comments, but I’m willing to take the risk to get something off my chest.

Who in the hell thought this costume was a good idea?

This is an officially licensed product available from Star Wars Shop.  That tells me that there was not only a product designer but also someone from Lucas Film that looked at this costume and said, “Yep – looks good.  It’s approved.”  Am I the only one that thinks this is a super inappropriate?  I suppose there’s some market out… Continue reading

The last couple of weekends have been absolutely crazy so I was really looking forward to some quality family time this weekend and ability to knock some stuff off my honey do list.  I had planned on taking Friday off but due to some unforeseen circumstances that didn’t work.  Luckily it was a terrible day weather-wise so the scolding I received wasn’t TOO harsh.  (sorry again hon)

Saturday started out very nicely.  We decided not to go to soccer as the G-man wasn’t feeling well and we were certain that the fields would have been complete crap based… Continue reading

First off… let me assure you that this is not a politically charged rant.  406 is essentially a politics free zone and I intend on keeping it that way.  Whether I’m left, right, black or white is pretty irrelevant.  When it comes to your politics you’ve got your opinion and I’ve got mine.  Nothing I say will change that.

That said… President Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize this morning.  All politics aside, I’ve got to say… what… the… FUCK???  First off, I was under the impression that this award was given to an individual who made great… Continue reading

Event: WrestleMania Date: March 31, 1985 Venue: Madison Square Garden (New York, New York) Attendance: 19,121

If you’ve never seen this show before and you’re a fan of modern day WWE stuff the first thing you’ll notice is the production value here absolutely blows.  But don’t judge them too harshly.  First off, this show was 25 years ago and it was the first time something like this had ever been done.

The first voice we hear is Gorilla Monsoon and he’s sitting next to Jesse “The Body” Ventura.  As an old school wrestling fan this is definitely my favorite combination… Continue reading

I leave the house at exactly the same time every morning (give or take 2 or 3 minutes).  The morning routine is the same:

  1. Get ready for work
  2. Talk to the G-man
  3. Get milk for the boys
  4. Take dog out
  5. Kiss G & Mom goodbye
  6. Head out

For some reason, my commute time in the last couple of weeks has gone up by about 10 or 15 minutes.  The obvious culprit is that school is back in session now.  But here’s my question… where the hell does everyone go in the summer?  I mean sure I know that kids aren’t… Continue reading
