He is “The Excellence Of Execution”. He is “The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be”. He is none other than Bret “The Hitman” Hart. I have read quite a few wrestling books in my day and I have to say that this one is definitely at the top of the list.
First off, if you’re not a wrestling fan you’re probably not going to get the brilliance of this book. It’s over 500 pages long and the detail that Bret goes into is just short of photographic memory type recall. He does… Continue reading
It’s been a while since I’ve done of of these posts. I’ve got a couple of things bubbling around in the ol noggin so I figured I’d sit down and write for a while… comments always welcomed.
- Tonight’s poker night for the Cleveland Poker League – that makes me happy. I hope I play better than I did last game but even if I don’t it’ll still be a good night.
- Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. These things are here to stay people. I tried for a long time to stay “off the grid”. At this point I’m… Continue reading
I’m not sure when it happened. Must have been sometime between when I left Cleveland and arrived in Bloomington. Plaid became cool. And not just plain plaid… FLANNEL plaid.
Perhaps it was a carryover from the “grunge” movement that was sweeping the nation but I can tell you this – the majority of the pictures I’ve got from college have SOME plaid flannel in them.
As you can see here, I’m sporting the standard backwards IU cap and I complete the ensemble with a plaid flannel shirt and some sort of fruity looking beer in a house mug.
Wes takes… Continue reading
In my previous post I detailed the events of Friday and Saturday evening with my boys. By my count Super Dad (yours truly) was behind in the scoring 2 to 4. I’d been beaten pretty badly but I hit the ground running on Sunday morning ready for a comeback.
Twitter/Facebook Update And so it begins… 9:04 AM Jun 14th from TweetDeck
And we’re off. Errands… Dad’s best friend. #fb 10:34 AM Jun 14th from TwitterBerry
I’d purposefully put off this trip till Sunday morning cause I wanted to have a little more time available to us. We had to make… Continue reading
First off… This is not going to be a story about drinking with my buddies at the bar. When I refer to “the boys” in the title here I’m actually referring to MY boys. If you’re looking for a “drinking with the boys” story, you’ll have to wait a couple of weeks. My brother is getting married in July and his bachelor party weekend is shaping up to be pretty damn cool.
Amanda was in Denver for a wedding and was away from me and the boys for the first time since they’ve been born (for those of you keeping… Continue reading
This photo really isn’t all that funny… until you know the circumstances. The dude with the beer is my buddy Jay. We were taking in a local WWE show in the Washington area. We had a few beers – actually, we had more than a few beers.
Jay decided it would be a good idea to put this dude into a headlock and pose for a picture. Seems reasonable seeing as we were at a “wrasslin” show. Except for the fact that we didn’t know this guy! That’s right… Jay is head locking a random here.
I don’t really remember… Continue reading
Most people don’t go out by themselves right? More often than not they take a “wing man” (or “wing woman” as the case may be).
This picture (taken at one of our 406 house parties) shows just why folks go out together – to avoid “guy that dances behind you without you knowing it”. Luckily this is just Pip behind Whitney but you never can tell when someone’s going to be up grinding on ya without you knowing it.
That being said, I’m guessing that Ms. Whitney just thinks she’s posing for an innocent pic and Pip swooped in when… Continue reading
If memory serves me correctly, this was the first in a long line of “picture of the week” items originally posted on 406Northlane.com. On the left is yours truly and on the right is my bestest bud Pip.
- Notice the tandem backward hats. That’s cool people.
- Notice the perfectly trimmed “I’m in college I can rebel” goatee that I’m sporting. Sa-weet!
This is pure awesomeness. Pip is sporting a “house beer” shirt that we had made up for when we were hosting a party… class I tell ya. Pure class.
I’ve got on a standard issue IU hat. Don’t leave… Continue reading
It’s Monday after a busy weekend — time to reflect.
Fun ‘n’ Stuff – A Good Start I suppose the most logical place to start would be on Friday – afternoon to be precise. I took the afternoon off to attend the last of the G-man’s 3rd Birthday parties. We decided to have it at Fun ‘n’ Stuff which in spite of their terrible website is a GREAT place to have a kid’s birthday party. It had been about 15 years since I took Amanda on a date there (talk about throwing my ‘A’ game!) and they’ve done a TON… Continue reading

Will I See Transformers? I’m A Child Of The 80′s… You Bet!
It’s summertime and that means blockbuster movies of the week! Last night at midnight, the sequel to Michael Bay’s Transformers hit the big screen. Already this morning the movie is being absolutely slammed in reviews. It’s being called slow, plodding, etc. And I can’t wait to see it!
For those that don’t know, The Transformers are robots that morph (transform) into vehicles and other objects to blend in to their surroundings. The property first came to us in the mid 80′s as a cartoon and has since spawned three (as of last night) theatrical releases, comic books, toys and and… Continue reading →
